How the Calculation Works
The serving-label method is a simple proportion calculation. If a batch contains C kilocalories and weighs W grams, then calories per 100 g equal (C ÷ W) × 100. The same ratio gives calories per gram, a handy number to multiply by any portion weight. Ounce values are automatically converted to grams using 1 oz = 28.35 g before the ratio is applied.
